Julien Donkey-Boy (1999) review

I really like watching 'KIDS' which Korine wrote the screenplay for so I expected to like this, now this is not to say I dint enjoy it. I loved it. It just took a while to get into the style. For ages I was thinking I had a bad copy then I realised that it should be that grainy.

For my project I did first plan to make a film under the rules of Dogma 95 but after more research on it I realised that no one followed the rules of it just like this film which was meant to me Dogma 95 as it as done with a hand-held camera but it broke so many 'rules' I would not count it as that but this is a good thing as you should not be ruled my rules. They only hold you back.

My favourite section of the film was the montage sequence which I have tried to recreate in an experiment I made. The film does have it slow parts but I think this is to show that life is not as fast as the movies make out. This feel makes you feel emotions but in a natural way not a forced Hollywood way.
